Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectroscopy has risen to the same level of importance as electronic and vibrational spectroscopy as a tool for studying molecular properties, particularly structural properties.  My research interests include the development and application of new instrumentation and experimental methods of NMR spectroscopy to study molecular structure and dynamics.

Due to the recent award, National Science Foundation Major Research Instrumentation Grant, the Department of Chemistry and Geochemistry at CSM purchased two state-of-the-art Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) instruments, JEOL 500MHz liquid state NMR and Bruker 400MHz solid state NMR.

I have been doing collaborative research with School of Mines faculties, which includes: diffusion NMR, quantum dots and nanoparticle characterization, heterogeneous catalysts characterization, biochar and soil solid state NMR, gas hydrates studies, shale permeability and porosity study and solid state NMR probe design.
